Rashad Jennings to get over 20 touches?

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings has proven to be an excellent offseason pick-up for the Giants, because he’s already asserted himself as one of the team’s most important players on either side of the ball. I mean, just look at how hard the offense fell after Jennings suffered a knee injury against the Atlanta Falcons, as the Giants simply could not consistently move the football without their workhorse  back. Jennings is finally back in the fold, and this week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers was highlighted as the likely return date by most. The Giants have prevented Jennings from being at risk for an aggravation by taking things slowly, and he’s only listed as probable this week, indicating that he is just about at full strength.

Because he’s healthy, Jennings has a high projected workload. Because a plugged in beat writer is projecting a big workload for Jennings, we can feel safe in the knowledge that he’s close to 100%.

ESPN NFL Nation’s Dan Graziano, who has been on top of all things Jennings, was asked if the Giants feature back would get more or less than 20 touches upon his return to the starting lineup. Graziano stated that he would take the over, and that should be great news for fantasy owners looking to re-insert him into their lineups.

Jennings has averaged nearly 80 rushing yards per game this season with a stout 4.4 yards per carry, and he and Odell Beckham Jr. have established themselves as the team’s two best skill position players.
