Rashad Jennings Injury: NY Giants RB not expected to miss time

The New York Giants skill position trio of Eli Manning, Rashad Jennings, and Odell Beckham Jr. are easily the three most important players on the offense, and an injury to one of those players would be absolutely devastating to a team that has won just three games and dropped a 25-24 decision to the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday. Beckham Jr. and Jennings shined on the stat sheet, and both offseason additions have done nothing but impress on a team that has generally done nothing but disappoint.

Jennings missed several games earlier this year with a knee injury, and it was obvious that the team wasn’t the same without the workhorse back. He left yesterday’s loss with an ankle injury after muscling his way to 91 yards and two TDs on 26 carries, and any injury to Jennings or ODB is sure to cause some fear among Giants fans.

Per a source close to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it doesn’t seem like Jennings’s ankle injury is serious, and the rising back isn’t expected to miss any time. Even so, it’s still worth monitoring his practice status closely, as even next week’s game against the Tennessee Titans isn’t a sure thing after their Week 13 loss to Jacksonville. Moreover, Andre Williams would be a huge downgrade as the starter to Jennings, as Williams has looked like a middling talent in his rookie season.
