Rashad Jennings, Roddy White Injury Updates

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings suffered an ankle injury in last week’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and any injury to Jennings, Odell Beckham Jr., or Eli Manning constitutes a potentially major issue for the Giants offense. We already saw how much the offense missed their workhorse in the backfield when he went down with a knee injury for a few weeks, so it was a relief to hear reports that Jennings wouldn’t miss this week’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Those reports were put in some doubt when he missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but it looks like he’s always been on track to play after all.

According to ESPN NFL Nation’s Dan Graziano, Jennings told him that he would practice today on a “somewhat limited” basis in order to show the team that he can run on his ankle. Well, Jennings is indeed practicing today, and I think it’s safe to expect him to suit up against the Titans. It’s a favorable matchup against a defense that was owned by Le’Veon Bell a couple of weeks ago, but the key could be the Giants blocking up front.

Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Roddy White missed last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, but Matt Ryan clearly didn’t miss him, as he simply rode Julio Jones to the upset victory, as Jones completely owned Patrick Peterson in an even more impressive performance than the one Jeremy Maclin put up earlier this year. I mean, unlike Maclin, Jones didn’t have much support around him, though Steven Jackson did rise to the occasion on the ground.

White is dealing with an ankle injury and didn’t practice yesterday, but most people were still optimistic that he would practice today and be ready to play against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Michael Cunningham, White did indeed return to practice today, though it also seems like he isn’t fully healthy. He could be a game-time decision again, but I actually expect White to suit up this week, especially given the marquee nature of this week’s battle.

Update: Jennings didn’t exactly have the smoothest practice session today, so he should be considered a game-time decision until further notice. Check back on his status on Sunday, especially if he’s on your fantasy team.
