The offensive line was once again less than stellar for the Giants. The group was better than last year’s garbage heap, but the unit still gave up too many sacks and was penalized for too often. Geoff Schwartz missed 15 games, and he’s already 30-years-old. And while J.D. Walton was reliable, he still left a whole lot to be desired at center.

Boling is a solid, reliable player that was part of an offensive line that only gave up 21 sacks all year. For the past three years, Boling has started every game he’s played in. New York really hasn’t had a reliable offensive lineman since before Chris Snee started declining.

If the Giants were to bring in Boling, they could move Weston Richburg back to his natural position at center, and play Boling at guard, thus drastically improving the offensive line. The 25-year-old would give the Giants a very good nucleus of young players, consisting of Boling, Justin Pugh, Weston Richburg and the offensive lineman the Giants select in the draft.

It will benefit the offense immensely if they can get a stable player like Boling.
