TE. San Diego Chargers. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS TIGHT ENDS. A-. This season cemented Antonio Gates and Philip Rivers in the record books as the greatest QB-TE combination to ever grace a National Football League field. As well, 2014 marked one of Antonio Gates’ best seasons ever as he caught 69 passes for 821 yards and 12 touchdowns (the most touchdowns he’s caught since 2004). As the team leader in touchdowns and first down catches, Gates definitely rejuvenated his play in 2014.

Also, TE Ladarius Green added some key yards for the Bolts out of the TE2 position. Green caught 19 passes for 229 yards with five catches of 20+ yards. Typically teams with one solid TE would earn a B+ at tops, but the Chargers have both Green and Gates catching passes. That type of production from tight ends isn’t seem much around the league anymore and is the reason why the Chargers’ TEs are A- material.
