Which five free agents should the Carolina Panthers target this coming offseason as they look to become legitimate contenders in the NFC again?
The Carolina Panthers were able to make the NFL playoffs with a 7-9 record this past season. Cam Newton was able to lead his team to a division title in Week 17 with a win against the Atlanta Falcons, but they aren’t going to be able to afford another season like the one that they just had.

If they want to get back into contention in the NFC in 2015, they will have to be very active this offseason.
There are plenty of holes in the roster for the Panthers, especially on the offensive side of the football. Carolina allowed all of Newton’s top targets go last offseason, and brought in Kelvin Benjamin. Obviously the rookie wide receiver is going to be special, but they need to bring in some help for Newton in the passing game.
DeAngelo Williams was the Panthers top running back this past season, and he was released to begin the offseason. That is another interesting situation for Carolina entering the offseason with all of the talented running backs on the open market.
It is going to be very entertaining to say the least, and the Panthers aren’t going to be the only team looking to make splashes. Carolina has plenty of different needs, but there are five players in particular that make a lot of sense for them to pursue,
