Anthony Miller, 1988-1993

Even though he’s ranked seventh in yards (5,582), 14th in yards per game (60.0), seventh in touchdowns (37) and eighth in receptions (374) in Chargers history, many people still don’t know about Anthony Miller’s greatness.

Miller spent his first six seasons with the Bolts and definitely made an impact towards the end of his time. A four-time pro-bowler with San Diego, Miller also returned kicks in addition to catching passes for the Bolts. In his first two seasons in the league, Miller averaged a modest 25.65 yards per return with a touchdown return in each season.

The problem with Miller is that he hit his prime during his final two seasons with San Diego, catching an average of 78 passes for 1,111 yards and seven touchdowns with a 69.45 yards per game average.

He may have had a run-of-the-mill name, but I believe Miller was not a run-of-the-mill receiver in Chargers history. His 1,252-yard season in 1989 still ranks as the sixth best season in Chargers receiving history.
