Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska Cornhuskers

Position: Running Back

Height & Weight: 5’9″ & 205 pounds

2014 Season Statistics: 264 ATT, 1,611 YDS, 19 TD; 22 REC, 269 YDS, 3 TD

After Melvin Gordon of the Wisconsin Badgers and Todd Gurley of the Georgia Bulldogs, the No. 1 running back in the 2015 NFL Draft is Ameer Abdullah. He’s a dynamic runner who has scouts and general managers marveling over his character.

With the hands to catch passes out of the backfield, Abdullah has every tool necessary to to be a star at the next level.

Scouts Inc. currently has Abdullah with a second-round grade, an that’s the general consensus in mock drafts. The major concern is that he stands at 5’9″, which isn’t ideal size for a three-down running back.

Temper your concerns; he’s ready.

Whichever team lands Abdullah will receive a star-caliber prospect.

Abdullah’s greatest strength is his uncanny ability to find the end zone—a direct result of his unwillingness to go down. He fights through contact, finishes his runs and is a decisive playmaker who follows his blockers and keeps things simple when attacking gaps.

Arm tacklers and linebackers beware: Abdullah is a star in the making.
