Which five free agents are ideal fits for the New Orleans Saints this coming offseason?
The New Orleans Saints are coming off of a very disappointing 2014-15 season that ended in a 7-9 record. It was a rough season all the way around, and there are major question marks surrounding the team looking ahead into the offseason.

Obviously the Saints still have quite a bit of talent and a great coaching staff in town, but they need to add another piece or two in order to have a chance at getting back into the playoffs next year. Their defense could use a lot of work, but there are also a few needs on the offensive side of the football. New Orleans is an attractive destination, and will be very competitive with whoever they pursue in free agency.
Drew Brees will always keep the Saints’ offense playing at a high level, but he could use a couple other weapons around him. Last season, the defense ranked just 25th against the pass and 29th against the run. If that isn’t a call for help, then there isn’t a statistical call for help in the NFL.
It will be interesting to see what happens between the Saints and Mark Ingram as well, as he comes off of the best season of his career.
There are plenty of talented players on the free agent market that would be ideal pickups for the Saints. They will need to retain Ingram, but they also need to fill quite a few holes in their roster.
