Wes Welker, Wide Receiver

Wes Welker isn’t a name that comes up too often when thinking about offseason targets for the New Orleans Saints, but he would be a very dangerous piece for their offense. Drew Brees always love quick targets, and Welker would form a deadly duo with young receiver Brandin Cooks. It would be very difficult for opposing defenses to keep up with both of them.

Last season with the Broncos, Welker had a bit of a down season and he isn’t expected to be re-signed. He ended up catching 49 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns.

At 33 years of age, Welker would make for another veteran presence in the locker room with a lot of experience. He would immediately become a deadly target for Brees in the Saints offense. It wouldn’t be too expensive of a deal after the down season that Welker had last year, and it would be well worth the money for a one or two-year contract.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening, but it would be very dangerous to see Welker end up in New Orleans.
