With Justin Forsett possibly departing Baltimore, the Ravens will need to find a suitable replacement at running back. With Todd Gurley, they may have themselves a star.

Gurley is one of the premier backs in this year’s draft pool, and with good reason. He has a combination of speed and power, and refuses to be taken down on initial contact. He has drawn a number of comparisons to Seattle’s offensive centerpiece, Marshawn Lynch.

In his three years with Georgia, Gurley rushed 510 times for 3,285 yards and 36 touchdowns. That averages at 6.45 yards per carry. He contributed another 615 yards and six touchdowns in the passing game.

The concern for Gurley is with his health. His 2014 season was cut short with an ACL tear, so he could be forced to start the 2015 season on the PUP list and miss training camp. If there is enough evidence of good progress with his knee, he is worth the risk.

On talent alone, Gurley could be taken way before the Ravens hit the clock with the 26th-overall selection. With his injury concerns, he could drop to the Ravens.
