What moves will be made in the run game?

Coming off the back of an excellent 2014 season, it will be hard for the Baltimore Ravens to re-sign Justin Forsett. Forsett rushed 235 times for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns last year–a career-best.

It’s hard to know exactly how much Forsett will earn in 2015. Despite such a successful season and having only rushed 582 times in his career, he will turn 30 early next season.

Forsett was one of the keys to the Ravens’ offense last year. Despite that, it would be wise for them to let him hit the market, and only re-sign the former Jaguar if it’s on a cap-friendly deal.

Fortunately for the Ravens, there is deep pool of running backs in this year’s draft. As hard as it would be to let an important member of their offense walk, replacing him with a younger, cheaper option would make sense.

In the opening few rounds of the draft, there a number of potential stars at the running back position. Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon and Georgia’s Todd Gurley stand out, but they could require a first-round selection. If Ozzie Newsome is unwilling to select a back so early, the likes of Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah and Miami’s Duke Johnson could come into play in the second and third-rounds.
