Round 7: Terrance Plummer – ILB – Central Florida

Lastly, one position the Dolphins need to address at some point in the draft is inside linebacker. Over the last couple of seasons, the play from the linebackers have been dreadful, as both Philip Wheeler and Dannell Ellerbe have failed to live up to their free agent contracts, while Koa Misi has left a lot to be desired.

Still, Miami has a plethora of young linebackers they like such as Jordan Tripp, Chris McCain and Jelani Jenkins.

It is important that Miami continues to add to their young group of linebackers, as having a strong middle is essential to the success of any defense.

Ever since his sophomore season at Central Florida, Terrance Plummer has been wreaking havoc. He broke into the lineup in 2012 and finished with 108 tackles. He improved during his junior campaign, increasing his tackle total by two, while adding two forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Although he dropped a bit in tackles, his senior season might have been his best. He led the team with 99 tackles (13 of them for a loss), four sacks, two forced fumbles, two recoveries and one interceptions.

He isn’t going to be Miami’s next Zach Thomas (or will he?), but Plummer could come in an be an excellent surprise and addition to what is an already youthful group.
