Best: Getting Traded For By The Oakland Raiders

After the nightmare season he had in 2013, it was obvious that Matt Schaub had to leave Houston. Texans fans suddenly turned on the best QB to ever don their uniform and they even came to Schaub’s house to insult and berate him. Things had taken an unbelievable turn in his career as he went from the unquestioned starter and hero to the goat for the team’s failures.

Where Schaub would end up was still a mystery but it was clear that the Texans would either trade him or simply release. The Raiders, in desperate need for a quarterback, sent a 6th round pick to Houston for Schaub and he was promoted to the starting role. The deal was criticized by pundits and fans alike but the reality was that he was an upgrade over any other QBs on Oakland’s roster. He was not the long term solution and the Raiders were eying a QB in the draft but ideally he would have mentored the youngster and won a few games for the Raiders.
