The next step to addressing the pass defense is to add talent to the secondary. In the third-round, Texas cornerback Quandre Diggs could bring good value for the Falcons.

At 5’9″, Diggs is on the short side for a corner, but he is a tough and intelligent player. With his size, he will likely have to play in the slot in the NFL, but Diggs has a lot of upside and can succeed there. His draft stock has risen after an impressive pro day.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com praised Diggs, writing that he ‘anticipates routes well and attacks the throw’. He added:

"“Diggs has started 80 percent of his games during his four years at Texas. He’s battle-tested against some of the most explosive wide receivers in the country and has developed into a mentally tough player. Diggs will have to be a slot cornerback and will need to keep his weight down in order to match up with the speed he will see from the slot.”"
