New York Jets: Top 5 Personnel Needs
By Robby Sabo
5. A Speed Running Back
Anybody who watched every Jets game in 2014 realizes Chris Ivory is a bonafide number-one running back in the NFL.
He’s powerful and nifty with a slight burst of explosiveness and excellent vision to boot that simply devastates defenders. There’s no question Bowles can feel comfortable with him entering camp as the number-one guy.

At the same time though, he’s shown some durability concerns, as running backs oftentimes do.
He is now 27, and last season was his first which saw him play all 16 games on the schedule. With New Orleans he’d frequently get banged up, including suiting up in only six-games respectively in 2012 and 2013.
Bilal Powell is a fantastic change of pace and third-down back.
Still, the Jets need another back. This guy needs to be a shifty speedster who can play the contrasting style to Ivory.
For how good Powell is with his shiftiness and pass protecting, he’s not a burner. An athletic pass-catcher would be welcomed in New York’s backfield during the late rounds of the draft.
