Round 7 – Three Picks in a Row
Denver’s busiest round in the 2015 NFL Draft will be in the seventh round when they hold three straight picks. It isn’t likely that they are going to find any future stars with these picks, but there are likely to be some players available that could be solid depth pickups or practice squad keepers.
First of all, the Broncos should take West Virginia wide receiver Mario Alford. He is coming off of a huge year with the Mountaineers, catching 65 passes for 945 yards and 11 touchdowns. Alford was able to put those numbers up alongside of Kevin White, and is one of the fastest players in the entire draft.
Secondly, Shaquille Riddick should be another pick by the Broncos. Riddick is also graduating from West Virginia, and is a pass rushing specialist. He recorded 27 total tackles last year with the Mountaineers, but also racked up 7.0 sacks on the year as well.
Finally, the Broncos should finish off their draft by selecting Aaron Davis out of Colorado State. He is a talented outside linebacker that has some raw talent for the coaching staff to work on. During his senior year with the Rams, Davis recorded 118 total tackles to go along with an interception, five defensed passes and a forced fumble.
