Week 11 @ Chicago Bears
Just two weeks after making the trek to Indianapolis, the Broncos travel to Chicago to face former Head Coach John Fox, former Offensive Coordinator Adam Gase, and the Bears. John Fox spent four years of his coaching career in Denver and experienced varying levels of success.
Fox was in charge during the Tim Tebow era which saw the Fanbase divided between Tebow and incumbent quarterback Kyle Orton. Some fans even wanted Tebow to stay instead of the future Hall of Famer in Peyton Manning. After Manning’s first round lost in the playoffs in his first season, the same delusional fans pointed to Tim Tebow’s 1-1 record as a Broncos starter in the playoffs as proof that he was the better option. That alone is further proof that it is a blessing that the fans are not the ones in charge of running the team.
Fox was dismissed from his position in Denver primarily because of his playoff failures. The Broncos were consistently one of the best regular-season teams under Fox but could not seal the deal in the playoffs. Whether it was a miracle 70 yard touchdown or a historic beatdown in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks, the Broncos simply could not overcome the obstacles to bring home another Lombardi Trophy.
Perhaps the job was just too big for John Fox but Gary Kubiak has not proven that he can coach a contender or win a Super Bowl either. Fox will be looking to win one over on his old boss John Elway who dismissed him despite is 46-18 record with the Broncos.
