Safety
Landon Collins — The Alabama star saw himself fall from day one, but he won’t be long for Friday. Many scouts don’t love his abilities in coverage, but the right defensive scheme will be able to protect this. He will be a monster in the box on running downs, and provide his team with sure, heavy tackling.
Derron Smith — Smith will be hurt by measuring in at 5’10” with arms under 30″, but his instincts and intangibles are through the roof. Smith is extremely willing to tackle, and can match up in man coverage when asked to. His size may send him to the back end of day two, but a team will receive a solid, hard-working player.
Jaquiski Tartt — Standing at 6’1″ and 221 pounds, Tartt has the body that NFL teams seek at safety in 2015. His coverage abilities and strength of competition at Samford will raise questions, but as a third or fourth round pick, his physicality will jump off the board to at least one front office.
Anthony Harris — Virginia’s 6’1″ safety has the instincts that you look for from a ball hawk deep in your secondary, but does not have the bulk or technique to survive in the box. Harris needs work, but could provide value late Friday or early Saturday.
