5. Josh Robinson, Indianapolis Colts

Josh Robinson was a sixth-round pick out of Mississippi State and despite the fact that he was overlooked for most of the draft he could be a solid player. He went pro after his third season at Mississippi State and in his final year he truly broke out. Robinson ran for 1,203 yards and 11 touchdowns, but proved that he could be a pass-catcher as well (28 receptions). For his career, he had a solid yards per rush average (6.2) and his 1,573 total yards from scrimmage in 2014 was impressive.

He is not a similar runner to his teammate Gore, a player that routinely breaks tackles, as he depends on his shiftiness to make plays. He’s elusive and his style of play will have the city of Indianapolis buzzing if he sees a lot of carries in 2014. Although it should be mentioned that he doesn’t have great speed, but he still preformed impressively in the SEC.

Robinson has a chance to be the successor of the Colts’ new, and aging, running back Frank Gore. He will be brought on slow behind Gore and that will allow him to adjust to the professional game without too much pressure. That said, he played in the SEC, so it’s not like he’s unfamiliar with high stakes. Is he the answer at running back for the future? Some think that Robinson has the chance to be.
