Offensive Line:
LT Nate Solder, LG Tre’ Jackson, C Bryan Stork, RG Ryan Wendell, RT Sebastian Vollmer
The offensive line was an issue in the 2014 season, but it did settle down towards the end of the season. With Dan Connolly currently still a free agent, the Patriots will once again look to a fourth-round pick from Florida State to fill a gap. If Jackson can play as well as Stork did in his rookie season the Patriots line will definitely be better. Jackson had a very successful college career starting every game in his sophomore, junior and senior year and he was a consensus all-american his senior year. Solder is looking to improve this year as well as he is playing for a pay-day at the end of this year.
Solder has been good at times at left tackle, but has definitely had his off days and must display the ability to consistently protect Tom Brady’s blind side. I think Stork will improve and be a very good center for the Patriots after his strong rookie season. Wendell is a versatile lineman who will play at the same level as he has over the last few years. He is a consistent player, but definitely has limited capabilities. Like Solder, Vollmer struggled at times last year, but he found his form towards the end of the season and when playing well, he is one of the best right tackles in the NFL.
