Consider that when it came to running the football, only the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys gained more yards on the ground this past season than the Jets. The team’s No. 3 ranking in rushing yardage was impressive as the New York averaged a sturdy 142.5 yards per game rushing this past season.
Could they be even better in 2015? Chris Ivory returns after leading the club with 821 yards and six scores on the ground this past season. While the Jets parted ways with Chris Johnson after one season, they still have Bilal Powell (141 yards) and were busy in the free agency and trade markets.
Although he missed the team’s stretch run to a Super Bowl title in 2014, New York added former New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley to the mix. And the Jets gave up a seventh-round pick in this year’s draft to grab Zac Stacy, who led the St. Louis Rams in rushing in 2013.
Don’t be surprised if New York’s running attack is even more productive this upcoming season.
