The Quinten Rollins case:

With nearly identical physical measurements to Randall at 5’11” and 195 pounds, Rollins clocked slower in the 40-yard dash at 4.57-seconds. His limited football experience also gives the Packers an extremely raw rookie that may not have the polish to start from day one, but I see the potential for a special playmaking tool in his game.

Simply put: Quinten Rollins is not afraid to be bold on the football field. His opportunistic style led him to seven interceptions in 2014 and earned him the award for MAC Defensive Player of the Year. When compared to Randall, I also prefer Rollins in terms of his press coverage potential.

His technique will need to see significant growth, but Rollins’ basketball background could pay dividends when he is asked to cover quicker receivers off the line of scrimmage. Managing their shorter routes is not entirely dissimilar to covering an opponent on the basketball court, changing directions on a dime while reacting to the movement of their body.
