Kansas City Chiefs (2014: 7th total yards, 2nd passing yards, 28th rushing yards)
In 2014, the Chiefs faced Tom Brady, Peyton Manning twice, Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger, and still finished second in the league in passing yards allowed. The only thing Kansas City did in the off-season was get better. They were able to bring back pass-rushing stud Justin Houston and drafted cornerback Marcus Peters in the first round, who has a chance to contribute right away. They also brought in safety Tyvon Branch, who is very effective when healthy.
The biggest problem for the Chiefs in 2014 was their inability to stop the run. While the Chiefs didn’t bring in any outside help, they hope that the return of both Mike DeVito and Derrick Johnson will shore up the run defense. After both players went down to injury last season, the Chiefs run defense took a turn for the worse.
If the Chiefs fail to improve their run defense, however, this match-up may actually be favorable for the Texans offense, which will rely heavily on the legs of Foster.
