First=round pick Todd Gurley will start his first NFL training camp on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list following surgery to repair a torn ACL in November. Gurley was expected to start training camp on NFL, but can be removed at any time.
While some theorize that Gurley could miss the entirety of training camp, expect him to be back much sooner — the preseason home-opener against the Indianapolis Colts. The game allows Gurley to take his time preparing for the return, waiting until the third preseason game.
Gurley was the 10th overall pick, and has the skill set to be in the running for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He has size, speed and agility. He hits the hole hard, is stout while blocking in pass protection and has the ability to be dangerous on passing downs. With a revamped offensive line, Gurley’s impact will be felt after appearing in the third preseason game.
