Dalton is actually in a very interesting situation because quite honestly, he has yet to actually win a game in the NFL Playoffs so far with his Cincinnati Bengals. With a chip on his shoulder the size of a mountain due to that, Dalton has the potential to truly have a stellar season and most importantly, pay huge dividends when it comes to his overall fantasy football value.
Fantasy owners should ignore what Dalton did last year since he had one of the lowest statistical seasons of his career. Last year, Dalton totaled 3,398 passing yards for 19 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Keep in mind, he did this with most of his starters out and inconsistency due to injuries.
A.J. Green, Tyler Eifert and even Marvin Jones all missed significant playing time last season due to being hurt. Considering that Dalton had to work with a sub-par receiving corps that definitely attributed to his drop in statistics last season, it explains why things didn’t go as planned last year.
Heading into this upcoming season however, Dalton has his full receiving corps back that are healthy and ready to push the envelope this year to finally go deeper in the NFL Playoffs. With rumors swirling that the Bengals want to see much better results this time around from Dalton, expect to see him play some of his best football yet. Which should easily translate to big fantasy football numbers on a consistent basis.
Dalton has potential to be a top QB1 due to his top weapons returning and all being ready to deliver big time in 2015. All the aforementioned players that missed playing time last season are all back and are having a terrific bounce back from injury so far. Things are being executed well on offense and Dalton is clicking on all cylinders so far this preseason.

Another key thing to remember as fantasy owners is that the Bengals’ offensive line also returns in tact. They only allowed 21 sacks last season which means Dalton will be kept upright the majority of the time and able to dissect defensive secondaries with ease and precision due to all the time he will have in the pocket.
Since the Bengals are “all in” when it comes to Dalton as their starting quarterback, there will be no controversy at all, regardless of how the team is doing.
Dalton will be under center for all of the upcoming season barring injury which means there is no worry about having to find his replacement in fantasy football leagues until Week 4 of the regular season for their scheduled bye week.
Overall, fantasy owners should definitely consider making Dalton their QB1 heading into the fantasy football season.
He will be racking up plenty of passing yards and touchdowns thanks to a healthy offensive line and productive wide receivers anxiously awaiting to making big plays all throughout the course of the regular season.
