The Saints aren’t ready to give up on Ingram just yet and showed it early in the offseason when they signed the former Alabama running back to a 4-year, $16 million deal to stay in New Orleans. In 2014 Ingram finished with 964 rushing yards (4.3 yards per carry) and 9 touchdowns in 13 games, to go along with 29 receptions for 145 yards.

As I said before a better offensive line will help Brees but it will also be a great boost for the running game. Ingram’s growth has been evident last year and if he’ll be able to put up numbers at least as good as last year’s numbers the Saints will be in great shape.

1100+ rushing yards and 12+ touchdowns seems like a realistic stat line for Ingram in 2015, if he stays healthy and plays in all 16 games. Ingram will be a key player for the Saints because he can help them control the clock and close out games, something they struggled to do big time in 2014.
