2014 Season Statistics:

For better or worse, the Washington Redskins have committed to Kirk Cousins as their Week 1 starting quarterbackRobert Griffin III has a fair gripe—Washington doesn’t win very often with Cousins under center—but that’s the way it is.

Don’t let your shock or anger cloud your fantasy football judgement.

Alfred Morris will likely pay the price, but that’s another discussion for another day. What Cousins being under center means is Washington is going to air it out—game manager tag or otherwise.

In 2014, Cousins attempted at least 30 passes in five of his six appearances. The only time he didn’t reach 30 attempts, he was injured mid-game.

Whether or not Washington wins games, Cousins should have big numbers. 30-plus passing attempts will likely lead to big yardage, solid touchdown numbers and, admittedly, a potentially damaging number of interceptions.

If you have the roster flexibility, pull the trigger. A bench spot isn’t too risky.
