There is no way the Cowboys should have won the season opener against the Giants with the way the defense, and even the offense, played for a majority of this game.

Romo didn’t budge, though, because he was the single reason the Cowboys were able to get downfield as quickly as they did. Not only that, he found the player he could trust, as Dez Bryant was in the locker room on the final drives with an ankle injury, as NFL.com reported he suffered a broken bone in his foot and will miss four to six weeks.

This win wasn’t pretty at all, but for Romo, he got the job done. He overcame a little pressure, a lot of miscues by his offense, and at time had passes batted in the air that the Giants intercepted.

Head coach Jason Garrett said it best in his post-game press conference by mentioning the poise of Romo.

The Cowboys quarterback finished 36-of-45 for 356 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. If if wasn’t for Romo, the Cowboys wouldn’t have won the game.
