1. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Love him or hate him, there was no player more dominant during Week 1 than Tom Brady. Fresh off of his overturned suspension, Brady made a very powerful statement in the first game of the 2015 NFL regular season.
Not only is he back, but Brady has returned with a vengeance—an historic vengeance, at that.
The four-time Super Bowl champion carved up the Pittsburgh Steelers for 288 yards and four touchdowns to no interceptions. He completed 25 of 32 passing attempts, which is good for a completion percentage of 78.1.
In the process, Brady continued to make history.
Throw in the fact that New England won 28-21 and Brady’s week was close to impeccable.
There were players who threw for more yards, but Brady’s MVP statement was the loudest. His efficiency, composure and control of the game was genuinely unparalleled.
Already a two-time NFL MVP, Brady is on the right path to a third award.
