Green Bay Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga could reportedly miss up to six weeks with a knee injury that was originally thought to be much less serious. According to reports from Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Bryan Bulaga suffered damage to the meniscus in his knee along with the previous diagnosis of a sprained MCL.

It’s been a difficult three years on the knees of Bryan Bulaga, dating back to a torn ACL he suffered in August of 2013. Bulaga also missed week two of the 2014 season with a tear in his MCL, and his absence will leave the Packers exposed on the right side over a very dangerous stretch.

Between now and the beginning of November, a potential return target for Bulaga, the Green Bay Packers will face the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams and Denver Broncos. That’s a lot of backfield pressure even with the finest offensive line.

Don Barclay seems to be the next man up at right tackle, and while he’s plenty talented and fits the scheme well, his preseason play often left much to be desired. Expect the Packers to help Barclay with a tight end on his side to chip the top-end rushers that he will be facing, but Aaron Rodgers and offensive play caller Tom Clements will need to be aware of pressure from that edge.
