The Philadelphia Eagles Defense is Legit:

Wow. Just wow.

Philadelphia Eagles fans have been waiting for their beloved Eagles to get going on defense since Billy Davis took the job as the defensive coordinator, and even though it has been a long journey, the Eagles defense looks to finally be there.

They are legit. There is no other way to put it.

They have shown that they are going to be a force this year and carry the Eagles the rest of the way.

Eli Manning found out the hard way that this Eagles defense means business.

Manning started the game 10-10 with an early touchdown to Odell Beckham Jr. and it looked as if it would be a long game for the Eagles.

However, other than that first touchdown, which was the first drive of the game, the Eagles came to play.

On the second drive of the game, middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans picked off Manning. The play was a very impressive one by Ryans, who stole the ball from the wide receiver, and the Eagles did not look back.

The Eagles forced four turnovers in a row, from the second drive until the fifth drive, which was one of the more impressive runs by an Eagles defense in years.

Ryans had the interception on the second drive.

Fletcher Cox absolutely blew up a run play on fourth down and Brandon Graham finished the play to get the Giants to turn the ball over on downs on the third drive.

Nolan Carroll jumped an out route, and an absolutely horrible decision by Eli Manning, which he took to the house on the fourth drive.

Malcolm Jenkins made a huge play and stripped the ball on the fifth drive. Ryans recovered the ball and cemented what was a dominant run by the defense.

What a run it was and the Eagles did not slow down the rest of the game. They went on to force five three and outs and did not allow the Giants to score the rest of the game.

Fletcher Cox showed that he is an all-pro player once again. Brandon Graham flashed. Vinny Curry finally showed up this year. The two safeties, Malcolm Jenkins and Walter Thurmond, played well once again. Nolan Carroll had himself a game and even was named Jon Gruden’s “Gruden’s Grinder” for his performance. Jordan Hicks looked good once again. Ryans, who left with an injury, looked great before that injury. Bennie Logan showed that 2015 is his breakout year.

If there was one negative takeaway from the game it would be that $63 million dollar free agent cornerback Byron Maxwell once again struggled for most of the game, but if you like to be positive; Maxwell struggled less than he normally struggles, if that even makes sense.
