The Bengals Are Not Winning the North

The Bengals are not going to win the AFC North. Up to this point the Bengals haven’t played a team with a winning record. They played the Raiders in week one and Derek Carr left with an injury in the second quarter. They played the Bills without their starting quarterback.

They played the Chiefs without a starting quarterback (sorry Alex Smith fans) and they played a Seahawks team that isn’t the same Seattle team from a year ago.  The Bengals are fools gold. They are beating teams that aren’t very good, and that’s going to change as their schedule is about to get harder. The Steelers have two opportunities to play the Bengals to end the year and they should win both.

Speaking of Fool’s Gold or Old Gold, Peyton Manning and the Broncos might be 6-0, but they aren’t very good. Their defense has been phenomenal, but they’ve only played one team with a winning record. Had it not been for a few missed field goals by Sebastian Janikowski or a miscommunication between a 2nd year receiver and 2nd year quarterback the Broncos would have lost to the Raiders. The Broncos defense will not be able to score every game and the Steelers offense isn’t the Browns or Chiefs offense.

These are the teams that threaten the Steelers chances of making the playoffs and getting a first round bye and they have an opportunity to play them each before the season ends. A Steelers team with all hands on deck is a better team than the Bengals and Broncos. The Manning that has Cable and the Playoff Dalton should be showing up more often as the year continues and the competition gets better.

This is why the Steelers are winning the AFC North.
