Minnesota Vikings: Stefon Diggs a Great Fantasy Addition

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs has become a hot fantasy football pickup because of his impressive ability to come down with the ball in the Minnesota Vikings offense. He has worked his way up to be the go-to guy for Teddy Bridgewater, which is exactly what you want on your fantasy football team.

In Week 4, Diggs really started to emerge as a primary target for Bridgewater, amassing 10 targets with six receptions for 87 yards. Two weeks later, he established himself as more than a one-week wonder with eight more targets totally seven receptions for 129 yards.

On Sunday, we saw more of the same from Diggs. He has posted six more receptions on nine targets for 108 yards and his first touchdown in the Vikings’ 28-19 win at Detroit.

Those last three weeks are the beginning of a trend. He has emerged, established, and now cemented himself in this Vikings offense and that’s exactly what you need on your fantasy football team: a wide receiver who is a cemented threat and go-to target.

In Week 7, Diggs was the most added player in fantasy football leagues for ESPN, jumping +40 points from 2.3 percent ownership. Is that indicative that you should jump on the bandwagon and add Diggs before the end of the week?  Absolutely.

Diggs is a hot commodity right now and the ownership percentage is only going to rise now that he has found his way into the end zone. I’m not usually high on rookie wide receivers, but right now there isn’t a player more important to pick up if you’re in search of a flex option or a wide receiver two.

Great for PPR leagues and also solid for standard leagues, this is a trending wide receiver who is just flashing potential that looks to be solidifying into consistent, reliable play. It isn’t just Teddy Bridgewater that will be getting the reward for his hard work, though. It’ll be the people who claim him as soon as possible.

Fantasy Pros has a great listing of the expert opinions on Diggs, and based on his production in Week 7, we’ll see a lot of those experts who like him around numbers 29-31, move him up in their rankings.

For some fantasy football players, Stefon Diggs may not be a luxury that’s worth cutting another dependable player for, and that’s ok. But if your team is in need of receiver help and the injury bug has bitten your team hard, Diggs is a perfect player to go out and get for your team.

With 19 catches, 324 yards, and one touchdown over three games, it’ll be tough to find someone getting hot in the middle of the season who is still available.
