More than just the QB
Overcoming an injury takes a team effort, so it isn’t just about what Brady can do to make up for Lewis’s absence on the field. Bill Belichick’s squads are consistently among the most resilient, and they have managed to battle past even bigger injuries, such as Gronkowski’s season-ending injuries in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. They missed out on the Super Bowl in both of those years, but they did manage to make it to the AFC Championship on both occasions (and then in-game injuries to Aqib Talib proved to be too much to overcome).

Players like Amendola, Edelman, and Gronk can star in the short and intermediate games, and the Patriots can count on those three to play at a high level. Plus, LaFell is coming off of a 100-yard performance against Washington and should continue to shine as the team’s “X” receiver.
