The special teams have done nothing spectacular, but have gotten the job done. We do need to give special credit to Ryan Quigley for handling the kickoffs and extra points against the Jaguars after Nick Folk was lost to injury. Folk has been consistent, and Quigley has been good. He is typically good for one shank per game, but dropping nearly half of your punts inside the 20 yard line is a good season.
Next: Jets Defense Steps Up Against the Jaguars
As kick returns go, there hadn’t been a real spark until Antonio Cromartie went back there against the Jaguars. He posted a 54-yard return, and although nobody has gone the distance with one yet, that was by far the longest of the season. Jeremy Kerley remains a fair catch machine on the punt return side.
