TODD: Fantasy football is a soulless demon with a black heart. It doesn’t care that Andy Dalton carried you all the way through the regular season and into the playoffs. He’s now gone. Good luck replacing him in a deep league. Fantasy football doesn’t care if Thomas Rawls was the free-agent add that saved your season. His injury now ruins your playoffs.
Tyler Eifert went down with a concussion, Jonathan Stewart may miss time, as could T.J. Yeldon. There are some breaks in fantasy football that are unable to be recovered from. Losing Tony Romo early on and adjusting during the season is fine and bearable. Losing your top QB, tight end or back during the fantasy playoffs isn’t quite the same. There is no recourse. You must turn to deep sleepers, players available off waivers in most leagues, to save you from the brink. Here are those sleepers.
DAN: I always find the Fantasy Football playoffs a bit anticlimactic, unless I go all the way to the title. You grind for fourteen or fifteen weeks to make the playoffs. Then, in a single injury riddled instant, you lose by five points in round one and the season is over. It’s what makes the game fun and incredibly frustrating. I love it!
My duds this week are two players who’ve been up or down all season. The playoffs are no time for guesswork, and these guys are about to stink up the joint.
