I said way back at the start of the season that, if the Jaguars were going to have any success this season, veteran Chris Clemons was going to need to replicate his Seattle days and last season one more time. Clemons has three sacks though 13 games. While it’s hard to criticize Clemons given his age, 34, he often is cited for more penalties than plays a game.
Despite what may seem like low numbers in the sack department, the Jaguars are surprisingly middle of the pack in the league. However, what’s lacking is that consistent pressure and hurries, which weigh far more important.
Pretty sad when the Jaguars best pass rusher currently is nickel back Aaron Colvin, who leads the team with four sacks. The Jaguars pass rush will be much better next season with the return of Sen’Derrick Marks. Clemons will not be a part of that.
