In 2013, Zane Beadles was one of the ten worst guards in football for the Broncos. That didn’t stop the Jaguars from giving him a five year, $30 million dollar contract in 2014.

Beadles has been a disappointment during his tenure. In 2014, the Jaguars offensive line gave up a league worst 71 sacks. Though largely not all of it was his fault, Beadles still underachieved and continues into 2015.
After the Jaguars drafted guard A.J. Cann in the third round of the 2015 draft, Beadles nearly lost his job had it not been a season ending injury to guard Brandon Linder.
Beadles said, (via Conor Orr) “That’s the business, man,” Beadles told Jacksonville.com. “That’s the front office’s job. They’re always looking to replace everybody. Always looking for better, younger talent. That’s the way it is. The way I look at it is I need to come out and do my job. That’s all I have to focus on.”
Rookie A.J. Cann has performed well as a rookie filling in for Linder. It is likely he will take over the starting left-guard role in 2016, which likely means Beadles departure out of Jacksonville.
