The Buffalo Bills should continue adding more quarterbacks to develop until they eventually find one worthy to carry this franchise to a championship. They should highly consider Dak Prescott in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Make no mistake about it, the Bills are in the market to add another quarterback to their roster to develop for the future and for depth purposes. At this point in time, the Bills have Tyrod Taylor and E.J. Manuel as their quarterbacks as it makes a logical sense to draft another one considering both athletes are entering the final year of their respective contracts.

The saying goes that until you find a franchise quarterback that can bring stability and consistent success to your team for a decade or so, you keep drafting more until they finally arrive. Heading into this year’s draft, the Bills have a few areas of need they need to address.

General manager Doug Whaley knows that with the No. 19 overall pick, their immediate need should be to address their offensive line and overall pass rush. While the Bills will more than likely draft the best available offensive lineman when they’re on the clock in the first round, they should add another quarterback into the mix in the middle rounds.

There is no guarantee what kind of quarterback play the Bills will get with Taylor who will undoubtedly be their starter next season but truth of the matter is, they would be wise to draft a developmental kind of quarterback for the future. Just in case both Taylor and Manuel aren’t options anymore after next season or in the event of injury/decline of play.

The perfect kind of quarterback that fits what the Bills are trying to accomplish would be Prescott thanks to everything he brings to the table.

At 6’2″ and 226 pounds, Prescott is a classic overachiever that will strive towards honing his craft for a bright future.

He’s tough, has a very good arm, an extremely high football IQ and with the overall kind of skill-set to show his potential after proper coaching and training in the NFL.

He’s a dual threat kind of quarterback that can carry a team straight to victory once everybody is behind him. In his collegiate career at Mississippi State, he totaled 9,376 passing yards, 70 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. On the ground, Prescott totaled 2,521 rushing yards on 536 attempts and 41 touchdowns.

Expect to see the Bills draft a quarterback but not for one that will challenge Taylor for the starting spot next season. As far as the Bills are concerned, he’ll be under center in 2016 as their starter but for the sake of the franchise, they should definitely draft Prescott in the middle rounds as his upside is tremendous if he can be given a year off to learn the game from the sideline.

Overall, being developed that way while watching/studying Taylor do what he does well, should enable Prescott to grow and hopefully down the road be ready to compete for a starting spot. He might not be the definitive answer but if history proves itself again for most teams trying to find that elusive franchise quarterback in the draft, it’s best to keep trying until that savior is found.
