Houston Texans land hidden gem with Braxton Miller
The Houston Texans continue to add some terrific pieces to their offense with hopes of it being as lethal as they come in 2016. They landed a versatile gem when drafting wide receiver Braxton Miller.
As the Texans continue to have a solid draft so far, they truly landed not only a future leader on this team but a wide receiver that will push the envelope come next season. At 6’2″ and 201 pounds, Miller brings speed, leadership and the unique skill-set of a classic overachiever ready to make a name for himself.
In his collegiate career at Ohio State, Miller holds the all-time record for a single player with 88 touchdowns. He made this incredible achievement since he played mostly as a quarterback then made a position change to wide receiver. He achieved 52 touchdowns through the air, 33 rushing and 3 via receiving. Make no mistake about it, he will be used in many different ways on offense next season for the Texans.
After the Texans drafted wide receiver Will Fuller in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, they knew they needed to continue adding play-makers to give quarterback Brock Osweiler some better weapons to deploy next season. Now with Fuller and Miller joining forces with DeAndre Hopkins, they will form the next new triple threat at wide receiver, ready to take the NFL by storm.
This newly revamped Texans’ offense will surely be a great sight to see this upcoming season and surely much-improved compared to last year. With a new gunslinger in town and an upgraded wide receiver corps, the Texans are serious in not only returning to the NFL Playoffs in 2016 but make a bigger impact.
One of the greatest attributes that Miller will bring to the table is his speed. He ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash and will absolutely take the top off of most NFL defenses he will be facing. Outside of Hopkins, the Texans have been missing that kind of blazing speed from their wide receiver corps.

Now with new talent in Fuller and Miller, things are about to get a whole lot faster offensively for the Texans.
Miller has very natural hands and loves to make big plays to keep those chains moving. His vertical game goes very well with the deep arm Osweiler has as he excels with route-running and an uncanny ability to make those deep receptions look simple.
With how well Miller can break tackles with ease and precision, it will be very interesting to see if he’ll be used in various different roles. Offensive coordinator George Godsey must be excited to conjure up plays to utilize Miller’s ability to throw, rush or receive. It opens up so many possibilities to have Miller truly add an incredible dimension to their entire offense to keep opponents guessing every single time he’s on the football field.

Now that the Texans have some better pieces at wide receiver, they can afford to let Miller develop naturally into his role and be used in situational packages. He will undoubtedly be featured in key third down conversions and once he puts everything together, could legitimately turn into a hidden gem for the Texans as he has play-maker written all over him.
