When it comes to the Denver Broncos, quarterback Mark Sanchez will exceed expectations thanks to a stellar defense and fact that he’ll thrive with a solid supporting cast.

As the Denver Broncos lost many key players from their Super Bowl winning roster this offseason, none were more surprising than what went down when it came to their quarterback situation. Peyton Manning retired riding off into the sunset after posting a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with a second championship added to his resume. Quarterback Brock Osweiler, projected to be the next franchise quarterback of the Broncos, decided to bolt via free agency to get a huge payday with the Houston Texans.

It remains to be seen if Osweiler made a terrible mistake by leaving a great situation he had with the Broncos. Regardless, the Broncos had to secure other players in order to have some kind of stability at the most important position on the team.

Before drafting quarterback Paxton Lynch, the Broncos acquired Sanchez with hopes of channeling the initial success he had when he first entered the NFL with the New York Jets so many years ago. During his first two years in the pros, Sanchez wasn’t the best but he knew how to win plenty of football games, taking the Jets to back-to-back appearances in the AFC Championship Game.

Last season for the Broncos, it wasn’t the play of Manning or Osweiler that won them games but their incredible defense. They swarmed quarterbacks like there was no tomorrow and ensured that they would stop even the most potent of offenses from scoring. All the Broncos needed on offense was their solid rushing attack and a quarterback that knew how to manage the clock.

Sanchez has had a rather interesting career and besides his early tenure with the Jets, has been trying to bounce back to silence his critics that he can indeed be a consistent quarterback.

The best part of the Broncos heading into the upcoming season is they’re still a “win now” kind of team.

They just need a quarterback that is able to do what he is asked for and stick to the overall offensive game planning.

The Broncos’ offense is built for a veteran that can step right in and use their experience to keep those chains moving. While it shouldn’t be expected for Sanchez to light up the scoreboard with touchdowns, their ground game and defense will be their main strengths in 2016.

While many feel the Broncos might have regressed this offseason, Sanchez is more than capable of getting the job done at quarterback. It surprised the football world when the Broncos went out and traded for him but general manager John Elway knows talent when he sees it. Make no mistake about it, Sanchez is the perfect fit to manage this offense as they develop Lynch to be their future franchise quarterback.

Overall, expect to see Sanchez exceed expectations with the Broncos as he’ll have a solid offensive line, potent ground game and a much better supporting cast of receiving options to make his job relatively easy. Plus with a defense like the Broncos will deploy in 2016, Sanchez couldn’t be in a more better situation to prove his worth once and for all.
