New England Patriots: Could Jimmy Garoppolo Start Hot?
The New England Patriots are preparing to start the upcoming season without their familiar franchise quarterback. But could Jimmy Garoppolo surprise while under center.
Whether you love them or hate them, the New England Patriots will continue to be one of the top contenders in the NFL. It’s a system that’s been built on greatness that many try to replicate, but often fall short in the grand scheme of things due to two key factors.

From their future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady to the legendary coaching of Bill Belichick, the Patriots, as long as both are continuing to run the show, will always be the best of the best. They have the stats, records and of course, Super Bowl championships to prove it to the masses.
But what happens when Brady serves his four-game suspension due to “DeflateGate” this upcoming season and isn’t starting? Well, not much changes when it comes to the mission at hand. Belichick has been preparing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to one day become the next face of the franchise once Brady decides to call it quits.
Unlike the majority of situations elsewhere, Garoppolo was drafted into the perfect one since for the past few years, he’s been able to study from one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. Again, combine that with the legendary coaching of Belichick and Garoppolo has everything around him to thrive, especially when his team needs him most.

A bit sooner than expected, Garoppolo is now the starting quarterback of the Patriots for a short period of time to start off the regular season.
Not only will his team depend on him to take care of business but it’s an important step for Garoppolo to get some real action under center to see how he handles being a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Ever since his days at Eastern Illinois, he ended his collegiate career on a high note and should be able to translate big results in the league.
In Garoppolo’s senior year, he totaled 5,050 passing yards, 53 touchdowns, nine interceptions and averaged a little over 360 yards per game.
Taking that into the pros isn’t easy but he has the skill-set to start things off red hot for the Patriots until Brady is ready to return. The first four games of the regular season has the Patriots squaring off against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills.
Out of that slate, the Cardinals would be the toughest challenge Garoppolo will face but rest assured, he will shock many and make sure the Patriots don’t miss a beat to start the season strong. He can easily start the season off 4-0 and get Brady back ready to extract revenge against opponents all season long due to his suspension.
As players will be playing with a major chip on their shoulder due to Brady’s suspension, one better believe they will come out the gates red hot to let the football world know they stand behind their franchise quarterback undoubtedly. Even Garoppolo will use this as motivation to not let his mentor down and make sure when he returns, Brady inherits a team that can easily go 4-0 in his absence thanks to all the talent across the organization.
