The Miami Dolphins are ready to start the upcoming regular season with a new head coach in charge with hopes of finally establishing a winning culture. Will Adam Gase be enough?

Whenever a new head coach is in town, it doesn’t take too long to immediately land your expectations for the entire team. Such is the case with new head coach Adam Gase, who is already getting the Miami Dolphins ready for a huge culture change. It won’t be easy, but as he continues to put his imprint across the organization, it’s easy to see that he could be that final piece of the puzzle.

The story with the Dolphins has been a continuous one over the years, as they always seem to let hype get the best of them and then crumble when it comes to living up to it. That’s the old mantra, but now with Gase at the helm, he’s already ushering in a new era of consistency, accountability and above all else, establishing a winning culture.

Gone are the days of the emotionless Joe Philbin who never brought the appropriate response when they needed clear leadership and direction. Gase is all about teamwork and making sure that everyone does their part to produce a winning season. The best teams the NFL has to offer all have quality coaching, and Gase has already been getting solid reviews so far during organized team activities and mandatory mini-camp.

The Dolphins have all the makings of a team that can make a run in the NFL Playoffs, but consistency all across the board and lack of solid coaching has been what has kept them back over the years.

With a franchise quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, an impact defensive player in Ndamukong Suh and a slew of talented players looking to make a name for themselves, all the Dolphins need is to believe in Gase and execute.

Similar to the New York Jets a year ago when they got a new head coach in Todd Bowles, the culture change gives immediate results and puts a team heading in the right direction.

Not many expected the Jets to be a 10-6 team at the end of last season, but Bowles kept his team in check throughout all the obstacles and distractions that come for playing in the city that never sleeps.

Gase could have a very similar effect considering his team has as much talent if not more than what the Jets had in 2015.

Gase has brought in several key NFL figures to help his team know what it takes to achieve success. From Peyton Manning tutoring Tannehill to Wes Welker working with his wide receiving corps, Gase wants to prove that he’s not afraid to seek help from legends to show his players the right way of handling things.

With high optimism and a good roster in front of him, Gase has a golden opportunity to make the Dolphins into a surprise contender heading into the regular season. In the AFC East, it would be a tall task to try and go after the reigning division champion New England Patriots but at the end of the day, the Dolphins should at the very least make a run for a Wild Card spot.

Overall, Gase is more than enough to establish a new culture for the Dolphins that should bring lots of confidence across the organization that they can achieve success in 2016. Once they start winning some games, that’s all they’ll need to silence their critics once and for all while bouncing back from their 6-10 season of last year. Confidence breeds success since well, the Dolphins have a ton of it and are ready to put some wins into building a great foundation for the future.
