Fantasy Football: Carlos Hyde Set to Breakout in 2016
Fantasy Football is upon us as many owners are preparing to have successful drafts this upcoming season. For running back Carlos Hyde, he’s set to have a breakout year thanks to a new head coach in town.
The San Francisco 49ers are undergoing many changes this offseason with the most important being at head coach. The 49ers landed head coach Chip Kelly with hopes of revitalizing their organization into heading towards a better direction. It won’t be easy but at the very least he will undoubtedly turn the 49ers’ offense around in no time.

For running back Carlos Hyde entering his third season in the NFL, he’s looking to bounce back from last year due to injuries and a lack of consistency. It wasn’t entirely Hyde’s fault as the supporting cast around him was abysmal which hindered his ability to get the job done.
Heading into the upcoming season however, Hyde will now have a golden opportunity to be a catalyst on offense. It’s no secret that Kelly has always been labeled a “mad scientist” when it comes to his offensive scheming but at the end of the day, if he has the pieces it can be among the best of the NFL.
One thing about Kelly is his ability to turn his running backs into overachievers on the football field. He did it in the past successfully and knows what it takes to make his running backs bring the heat against the opposition. Kelly loves to feed running backs the football either through the ground or air to win the time of possession battle.

When it comes to his fantasy football value, Hyde is tremendously underrated due to never being able to get into a dominating rhythm.
All that is about to change now that Kelly will more than likely use Hyde’s ability to keep those chains moving in various different ways.
Hyde has the skill-set to use his speed, agility and a keen sense at hitting lanes like a ball shot out a canon to earn plenty of fantasy points.
While fantasy owners might be concerned that he’s coming back from a major foot injury of last year, he’s been doing great so far in training camp and preseason action.
Not only is Hyde in great shape but has much to prove in silencing his critics. Expect to see Hyde become a dominating running back straight to a breakout season with the 49ers. Don’t underestimate the power of a new head coach with a knack at turning running backs into featured players on offense.
Hyde will not only carry the offense of the 49ers but if healthy, could easily be a top 10 fantasy running back in 2016. His fantasy value at this point in time is easily an RB2 with potential to be a starter once he starts heating up throughout the first few weeks of the regular season.

Overall, if Hyde stays healthy and absorbs the new offensive playbook of the 49ers, he will truly light up the fantasy football scene. Not only has Hyde lost 15 pounds compared to last season but he’s ready to execute and truly prove his worth in 2016. Be on the lookout for Hyde as this will be the year he puts everything together straight to stardom. It will be shocking at first but don’t expect the 49ers to be all that terrible in 2016.
