Early Fantasy Football expectations are very good for quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys. He’s absolutely worth taking a risk on in starting lineups.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, quarterback Tony Romo suffered a severe back injury in preseason action. He will miss a significant amount of time due to it and might never be the same quarterback again if he does return at any point this upcoming season. The next man up is rookie Dak Prescott, who has been showing signs of brilliance all preseason long.

So far in the preseason, Prescott has some rather impressive stats to the tune of 454 passing yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also showed off his unique skill-set by rushing for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Of course, preseason football is meaningless in the grand scheme of things but if this is a preview of what is to come with Prescott running the Cowboys’ offense, it will be a great situation to be in once the fantasy football season arrives.

As of right now, Prescott is an unknown when it comes to what kind of fantasy football value he’ll have. Prescott has the potential to truly be something special if everything goes according to plan. It’s no secret the Cowboys boast one of the best offensive lines in the league and have electrifying weapons on offense to make Prescott’s job even easier.

Prescott can take the fantasy football world by storm if he can continue to be his calm, cool, and usual self. He seemed unphased in the heat of battle on the gridiron and looked like a seasoned pro rather than a player entering his first year in the NFL.

Fantasy owners shouldn’t be worried about confidently starting Prescott, especially against favorable matchups.

Right off the bat come Week 1 of the regular season, the popular NFC East clash will be set between the Cowboys and New York Giants.

Prescott might be nervous like there is no tomorrow but his ability to be comfortable and unphased will be one of his best attributes all season long.

It’s not easy to step in and be a starter literally months after being drafted. But Prescott looks like he will have everything under control and is ready to do his best to bring victories to his team on a consistent basis.

Fantasy owners should consider starting him come Week 1 since he could easily put on quite the show against a Giants’ defense that won’t have many answers for the Cowboys’ powerhouse offense. With wide receiver Dez Bryant, running back Ezekiel Elliott and tight end Jason Witten, Prescott will prove that he will be a force to contend with all season long.

Overall, early fantasy expectations for Prescott are excellent as he prepares for the moment most rookies don’t dream about until a few years of experience in the league. Even though he’s faced very basic and simple defenses in preseason action, he excelled as there is no reason to believe he can’t handle the constant pressure in football games that actually matter.

If you’re lucky enough to land Prescott on your fantasy team, start him Week 1 and be prepared to enjoy the ride. He’s exactly what the Cowboys need at a time where all hope for a winning season is lost and Prescott is ready to prove doubters wrong.
