Who is Favored to Win?

According to the oddsmakers in Vegas, the Houston Texans are the team that should win the game. However, to try and entice us all to bet on the Bears (not that we would bet of course) they are giving Chicago 6.5 points.

That number has changed since June when the Texans were favored by just five points. Changes to the roster had little to do with this it would seem. The Texans saw Watt have surgery in July and they have also since cut most of their veteran receivers. The “old man” of the receiving corps in Houston is 24-year-old DeAndre Hopkins.

The Bears did have some changes, which included signing former Green Bay Packers guard Josh Sitton. They also said goodbye to kicker Robbie Gould, who happens to be the franchise’s all-time points leader.

It would seem most developments have favored the Bears, yet the odds went slightly higher in the other direction. The reason for that probably has more to do with what the two teams showed on the field during preseason.

The Texans got better each week and looked like they were ready to click. The Bears on the other hand looked out of sync. Their running game looks different without Matt Forte and there’s not enough help for wide out Alshon Jeffery.

So with all that looked in to, what will the outcome be?
