Taking a look at when the 2016 NFL Trade Deadline falls and when teams have to have deals done by.

Ah yes, that time of year is almost upon the professional football world. The 2016 NFL Trade Deadline is on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 with a deadline of 4 p.m. ET. Teams all across the NFL are eligible to trade their players to other willing franchises with hopes of securing more talent and/or draft picks.

For most teams, this is the time to add just a few extra pieces to their roster if they’re serious about making an NFL Playoff run. It’s not easy but sometimes an extra high-quality player added as depth could make the difference between being a contender or pretender.

This season so far has been one filled with a plethora of key injuries, lack of execution, and well, a ton of unpredictability. Years ago most football fans around this time had an easy picture of which teams would stand firm on top of their divisions.

Now, it’s incredibly hard to even come up with how the playoff picture will look as anything can happen from here on out.

Blockbuster trades, however, could very well occur as the deadline approaches, especially for teams in need of a veteran quarterback or impact offensive linemen to yield immediate results.

Of course, it’s not that easy to simply wheel and deal players via trade as salary cap implications apply but at the end of the day, smart general managers know it might be needed for continued success. Or even at the very least, to have cornerstones in place now for next season and beyond.

Franchises like the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers come to mind that might want to trade some of their stars now for draft picks to stockpile to have a better future. Easily, these two franchises must rebuild completely from the ground up and have something positive to look forward to.
