Brock Osweiler returns to the place he was drafted as the Houston Texans take on the Denver Broncos Monday Night at Mile High Stadium.

Final. 27. 45. 9. 10

Not exactly the homecoming the $72 million quarterback would’ve liked as Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler welcomed by jeers from the Denver Broncos fans as he ran out onto the field, while also receiving an unpleasant beating at the hands of his former defense.

The Texans are now winless on the road in three attempts, but are a perfect 4-0 at home. Hard to understand what exactly makes this team abysmal away from home.

Osweiler was once again horrible throughout the night, showing thus far on the road that he is nowhere near worthy the compensation the Texans paid up for the former Broncos second round pick. 131 yards, zero touchdowns, and a fumble on 41 pass attempts on Monday night; read between the lines.

Denver’s defense made the quarterback’s night miserable; but with their offense ran by Trevor Siemian and dominant running back duo of Devontae Booker and C.J. Anderson just grinding out the time of possession, Houston was never given the opportunity to find any rhythm.

DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller were once again shut down, not much of a result to Denver’s coverage though. The Brock Lobster has continuously overthrown his receivers, inaccurate on short throws, and just being disgustingly bad in general.

John Elway must be one delighted general manager, having not spent the grotesque money to keep a quarterback that has yet to really show his new team that he’s worth the price of admission.

Three Stars

C.J. Anderson/Devonte Booker (194 total yards, 2 Touchdowns) – This two-headed monster spearheaded the Broncos offense Monday night versus the Texans. Both Anderson and Booker found paydirt on short scampers and combined for 174 yards on the ground. In primetime, the Broncos run game really exposed a banged up Houston defense.

Broncos Defense (2 Forced Fumbles, 9 Points Allowed)  – There were no defensive touchdowns, interceptions, nor sacks, but the Broncos defense hurried the Texans offense into poor throws and a few uncalled for fumbles. Not to mention the two late fourth down stops, not every defense needs the splash plays to be dominant. This Broncos defense bullied Houston all over the field tonight.

Trevor Siemian (157 yards passing, 1 Touchdown) – We made it a point to express our candid thoughts on Brock Osweiler, on the other side of the ball the man whom took over the reigns that were offered to Brock continues to be the “steady Eddie” for this Broncos team. Siemian doesn’t force unnecessary throws, nor put his defense in detrimental situations much during games. It may not be exactly the production you’d want out of the passing game when one throws for under 200 yards, but when you’re winning, who cares?
