NFL Week 10 may have been the most action-packed, polarizing Sunday of the 2016 season thus far. The Dime Package returns to offer 10 thoughts on it all.

Several great games highlighted what was a great NFL Week 10 with a multitude of action around the league. There were down-to-the-wire finishes, monster performances, and then there was the game between the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams.

They can’t all be winners.

Regardless, there are plenty of major takeaways from the week that was. Some teams continue to surprise—for better or worse—while others are who we thought they were. This is The Dime Package, giving 10 thoughts on the action from NFL Week 10:

1. The Green Bay Packers are toast. I don’t care how bad the NFC North is. They have too many injuries to overcome on defense and the offense is inconsistent. Mike McCarthy is in trouble.

2. On Sunday, the Rams and Jets set football back about 30 years. What an ugly game. Bryce Petty is clearly not the long-term answer at quarterback for the Jets.

3. There are two reasons why the Carolina Panthers are 3-6 after 10 weeks: Cam Newton has been inconsistent and the defense has been subpar. Newton and the defense cost the Panthers the game yesterday in their 20-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

4. The Atlanta Falcons reinforced the notion nationally that they are frauds. They lost 24-15 to the Philadelphia Eagles and proved that they can’t win on the road. I have never bought this team as a contender.

5. A 26-20 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday is the fourth-straight for the Minnesota Vikings. It’s hard to pin this loss on the offense. Minnesota’s defense played terrible and has gone from being arguably the best defense in the league to a middle of the pack unit in a span of four weeks.

6. Jay Cutler once again reminded us yesterday why he might be the most frustrating quarterback the NFL has seen since Jeff George. Talk about a waste of arm talent.

7. Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott furthered his case as a MVP candidate yesterday with performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. All the focus has been on Dak Prescott, but Elliott might be the single biggest reason for the Cowboys revival and their 8-1 record.

8. If I were a San Diego Chargers fan this morning, I would be frustrated with Philip Rivers too. He threw four costly interceptions in the Chargers 31-24 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Rivers is fun to watch, especially because he has a gunslinger mentality. But that gunslinger mentality has gotten him into trouble through the years. Yesterday was proof of that.

9. Speaking of the Dolphins, they are continuing to fly under the radar. Adam Gase’s team has won five in a row and are only two games behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East. The Dolphins are alive and well in the AFC playoff hunt.

10. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Patriots because they made more plays offensively and didn’t turn the ball over.  Conversely, the Patriots turned over the ball over twice and couldn’t score when the game was on the line in the end. Seattle was the better team in this game. Overall? We’ll see.
